Diets
Our diet options vary. They can be individualized regular food diets (like rotating or balanced deficit diets), formula diets for rapid weight loss (like OPTIFAST), or partial supplementation diets (like keto and high-protein diets). Additionally, we offer a 10-day detox treatment. Note: Diets are combined with appetite suppressants when appropriate.
Rotational Diet
Rotational diets temporarily “stress” your body by excluding certain food groups during certain periods of time (for instance: vegetarian for 2-3 weeks, lactose-free for 2-3 weeks, then gluten-free for 2-3 weeks), therefore helping your body ease into weight loss faster and more effectively.
OPTIFAST Diet
OPTIFAST is a medically supervised weight loss program that utilizes meal replacement plans, self-prepared meals, comprehensive patient education, and support. Typically lasting 26-52 weeks, the OPTIFAST program consists of 3 phases: firstly, the active weight loss phase, secondly, the transition phase, and thirdly, the maintenance phase.
High-Protein Diet
Like its name, the high-protein diet uses high-protein foods to enhance nutrition and appetite control. It includes fresh food recipes and works particularly well for busy lifestyles, as you’re able to both cook and eat out. High-protein foods are also healthy and fast alternatives to have on you or in the car.
hCG Diet
The hCG diet (human chorionic gonadotropin) consists of rigorous restrictive dieting and calorie intake, as well as the supplementation of the hCG hormone via sublingual preparations, nasal sprays, or intramuscular injections. Although the plan offers rapid weight loss, there are several things to consider. You can only do it for 30-60 days, which is not enough time for people who require additional weight loss. It’s also very restrictive—no exercising, no eating out, drinking alcohol, etc.
Keto Diet
The ketogenic diet, often referred to as the keto diet, is a low-carb, high-fat diet. It involves a drastic reduction in carbohydrate consumption, replacing carbs with fat. This carb reduction puts your body into a metabolic state called ketosis, where your body more effectively and efficiently burns fat for energy. It also turns fat into ketones in the liver, which supplies energy for the brain. The keto diet has also been shown to have a hugely positive effect on blood sugar and insulin levels.
Balanced Deficit Diet
This diet takes you back to basics. It’s about eating the right food in the right amounts at the right time. It also includes the calculation of a sustainable daily caloric intake to ensure a certain amount of weight loss.
Dietary Medications
Dr. Julia Melamed is a nationally recognized expert and educator on obesity medications, lecturing all over the U.S. She often uses a variety of older stimulatory medications like phentermine. She also uses the latest classes of drugs like Saxenda, Qsymia, and CONTRAVE.

Functional Testing
It’s important to understand the foods, vitamins, and minerals our bodies do and don’t absorb and digest. And because it’s our goal to give you well-rounded support, we offer nutritional consults and RMR (resting metabolic rate) evaluations. We also offer functional laboratory testings for food allergies, colon health, and micronutrient/vitamin deficiencies. After all, your health is our priority.
Gut Zoomer
Gut Zoomer is a stool test that examines your large intestine, allowing you to look at the populations of bacteria, yeast, and parasites residing in the gut. Firstly, it classifies and distinguishes bacteria related to gut disorders such as IBS, IBS-D, as well as other underlying issues like nutritional or vitamin deficiencies, food intolerances, autoimmune diseases, inflammation and joint pain, skin conditions, ADHD, and low energy or fatigue. Additionally, the Gut Zoomer comes with recommendations for things like diets, natural supplements, and nutraceuticals.
Wheat Zoomer
The Wheat Zoomer is used to detect wheat- and gluten-related disorders, intestinal permeability, celiac disease, and other gluten-related autoimmunity issues. Basically, the test works by detecting protein antibodies associated with wheat and gluten sensitivities. All together, associated symptoms and conditions include IBS, leaky gut syndrome, weight gain/loss, low vitamin D, chronic headaches, skin inflammation, brain fog, and fatigue.
IBSSure
This test helps identify patients suffering from IBS-D related to small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). Additionally, this test is used to reveal the underlying cause(s) of weight loss/gain; vitamin deficiencies such as B12, iron, and other fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K; vitamin excess such as folate; steatorrhea (fatty or oily stool); dietary intolerance to certain carbohydrates, fiber, and alternative sweeteners; hypoproteinemia and hypoalbuminemia; mental acuity symptoms including brain fog, fatigue, and anxiety.
Neural Zoomer
The Neural Zoomer uses a comprehensive set of autoimmunity markers to identify neurological risk factors that will help your practitioner identify the source of your symptoms. This test was formulated for patients who suffer from neuropathic pain, impaired vision, photosensitivity, sensory loss, ataxia, muscle pain or spasms, muscle weakness/atrophy, fibromyalgia, orthostatic hypotension, chronic fatigue, memory loss or brain fog, and autoimmune diseases.
Adrenal Cortisol Testing
This adrenal test is a saliva panel used to detect imbalances in the secretions of the stress hormones, cortisol and DHEA. Cortisol impacts blood sugar levels, thyroid function, weight fluctuation, and metabolism. Meanwhile DHEA impacts feelings of fatigue, depression, immune system function, sexual desire, exercise tolerance, muscle tone, skin, and eyes.
Alcat Food Allergy Testing
The Alcat test is a simple blood test used to manage conditions linked to inflammation and chronic activation of the immune system. The test measures responses to foods and other substances at the cellular level. Everyday issues like migraines, aching joints, fatigue, gastrointestinal disorders, eczema, hyperactivity, ADD, asthma, and even obesity and the inability to lose weight have been linked to food sensitivity and chronic activation of the immune system.
Micronutrient Testing &
Nutritional Evaluation Panel
Micronutrient testing is a blood test that measures specific vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino/fatty acids, and metabolites in your white blood cells. Furthermore, a micronutrient test can reveal deficiencies correlated to conditions like diabetes, fibromyalgia, hypertension, hypothyroidism, dyslipidemia, insomnia, asthma, estrogen, testosterone, headaches, inflammation, depression, anxiety, and weight management.
Body Composition Analyzer
RMR Testing
The RMR (resting metabolic rate) test is a simple, non-invasive test that accurately measures how many calories you burn at rest. During the test, a machine captures and analyzes the composition of your breath. As a result, we are able to determine your oxygen consumption and measure the rate at which you consume energy.
