Dr. Julia Melamed has been helping her patients lose weight, look their best, and feel their healthiest since 1998. She’s board certified in internal and metabolic medicine, certified in anti-aging medicine, and has a Honorary Fellow Designation with the Obesity Medicine Academy (OMA).

RN, CANS, LICENSED AESTHETICIAN

A 24-year industry veteran, Jan carefully customizes each treatment to her patients’ unique needs. She has an arsenal of training in FDA-approved injectables like Botox, Dysport, JUVÉDERM, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA, Restylane, Restylane Lyft, Sculptra, and more. Jan’s background in aesthetic dermatology also includes 17 years of sclerotherapy, training in Cutera and laser therapy, as well as experience with the latest rejuvenating treatments, PRP FaceLift and PRP facials.

Shadi Jafarian, RD, LDN

RDN, LDN, Licensed and Registered Dietitian

Shadi Jafarian is a driven Registered Dietitian, a graduate of Loyola University Chicago who holds a certificate of Training in Weight Management form the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Since 2000, Shadi has been providing nutrition education and counseling to individuals with a wide array of health concerns and wellness goals. In evaluating the nutritional status of thousands of people during the past 20 years, Shadi has the expertise to effectively educate anyone interested in health topics including: Weight Management, Gastrointestinal Health, Fatigue management, Optimal Nutritional Supplements, Anti-aging, Immune Enhancing, and other therapeutic diets.

Shadi is a passionate nutrition educator and counselor who believes in individualized research-based nutrition interventions to manage chronic illnesses and promote wellness.

Physician Assistant

Julia Kizhner is our physician assistant and has been working with overweight and obese patients since 2003. Her special interests include dietary and pharmacological modalities for resistant weight loss patients.

Manager and Patient Care Liaison

Margot Gonzalez, MD, has been an Office Manager and Patient Care Liaison at Melamed Weight and Wellness for over 10 years. Margot takes a genuine interest in every Patient’s Personal success. Her energetic and cheerful personality and vast experience made her well-liked and respected by her Colleagues and Patients alike.

Lily Cannistra, LE

Patient Care Liaison and Aesthetic Consultant

Lily Cannistra, LE, is a patient care Liaison and aesthetic consultant. She joined our team in 2020 and quickly became an integral part of the office and go-to person in a wide variety of topics – from handling iPad in the waiting area to skincare selection. She is a bright and cheerful person, and always ready to help our patients with a variety of information and services.

Jocelyn Arreguin, LE

Patient Care Liaison

Jocelyn Arreguin is a Licensed Aesthetician with a vast experience working with custom facials and peels, lasers, and Coolsculpting in the Chicagoland Area. Her special interests include variety of Chemical peels, such as VIPeel and PRX t33, and body contouring procedures ( Coolsculpting, RF), she is also great at analysing your existing skin care regimen and recommending products to improve your skin condition in the long run
